Artificial Fire, Not Natural
This Wasabi is so artifical in taste it feels like eating some highly reactive chemicals in a science lab disguised as your kitchen... all jokes aside, I have had Wasabi many times before and it was pleasant to eat, this was far from it, just take a look at the ingredients list! I would avoid this and save your mouth - and brain - some pain. The flavor doesn't justify the damage, find one with less rubbish in the ingredient list, i.e. more natural!
gets the job done
thanks for carrying this so I don't have to go out of my way to an asian store for this! Love it!
Good enough
This is nice and tasty. It's not really wasabit - it's horseradish but unless you are very particular and want to pay loads for real wasabi, this will do just fine.
Well I like it...
Against all the other reviews I found this to be the perfect accompaniment to Sushi, and think it tastes just like the wasabi from my local Sushi shop. But be careful a little really does go along way!
At least, the only one authentic Japanese...
...supermarket Wasabish paste in Ocado in this moment!? When I travelled Japan, I have seen this prepared Wasabi paste in major supermarkets and convenience stores there. However, of course, not at the best sushi restaurant and Ryotei that had traditional sharkskin Wasabi graters and fresh Wasabi roots for authentic best Wasabi. Here in Britain, the best thing I can do with Ocado in this moment is to mix this Wasabish paste to add Wasabia Japonica scent to grinded fresh horseradish root... or I wish Ocado stock fresh Wasabi roots in the future as it's grown in Britain, but it's far from London where we live. I occasionally buy fresh Wasabi by mailorder, but often postage costs much as the product. If fresh Wasabi root was sold at Ocado, I would be happy to buy. However, in this moment, sadly this is the only one acceptable authentic alternative from Japan...
Not recommended
If you like good and strong wasabi this is not for you. You have to use a lot of it to taste the wasabi and it doesn't go well with sushi.
