Product Information
Inspired by the coastal vitality of Salcombe and its shipbuilding heritage, multi-award winning Salcombe Gin ‘Rosé Sainte Marie' is distilled in the iconic coastal town of Salcombe in the Southwest of England at one of the world's only distilleries directly accessible by boat. ‘Rosé Sainte Marie' is a delicate, fresh and truly exquisite gin inspired by the aromas, flavours and lifestyle of the South of France and is a celebration of adventure, colour, freshness and joy; capturing the vibrant spirit of the Mediterranean coast.
Named after the iconic ‘Sainte Marie' lighthouse which marks the Southern entrance to the Old Port of Marseille, from where 19th century Salcombe Fruit Schooners would load fresh citrus fruits and herbs bound for England's ports. This gin is one of only two ‘pink' gins in the world to have been awarded Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. More recently, was awarded a Double Gold at the 2020 SIP Awards.
Tasting Notes: Distilled and crafted using the finest Macedonian juniper berries to provide structure in the background, partnered with a natural, but not overpowering soft sweetness from strawberries and angelica. Fresh citrus peels of lemon and orange which are hand peeled each day prior to distillation and combined with ten further hand-sourced botanicals including lavender, lemon verbena, rose petals, orange blossom and pink peppercorns are combined adding subtle finesse. On the palate it has fullness and intensity whilst remaining smooth with an endearing and lingering softness to finish.
No added sugar or artificial colouring. It is purposefully dry in style. Naturally pink through the use of strawberries.
Best served: On its own over ice or with a premium Indian tonic water and a slice of strawberry to accentuate the bouquet of red fruit or a twist of fresh lemon peel to bring the fragrant citrus to the fore.
Please drink responsibly: The UK Chief Medical Officers recommend adults do not regularly drink more than 14 units per week

Brand details
Salcombe Fruiters were Schooner sailing vessels built in Salcombe in the 1820s - 1880s. These ships were the fastest of their day, with copper sheathed hulls and an ability to sail close to the wind, hand built to carry cargos of highly perishable fresh fruits and spices from around the world to England's ports.
The iconic 'Sainte Marie' lighthouse built in 1855, marks the Southern entrance to the Old Port of Marseille from which de Salcombe Fruiters would load citrus fruits and herbs from the Mediterranean.
Harnessing the essence of these ships' precious cargo and their trading routes, we use only the finest fresh citrus fruits and spices combined with Macedonian Juniper, to create a contemporary spirit inspired by history.
