Preparation and Usage
Recipes
1 Pack Santa Maria taco shells
500g Lean minced beef (or chicken)
1 tbsp butter or oil
1 Sachet Santa Maria taco seasoning mix
100ml Water
How to prepare:
Step 1: Heat oil in a pan and fry the minced meat until browned. Add the seasoning mix and 100ml water. Continue to cook for a further 5 minutes. If using chicken halve both the quantity of water & cooking time.
Step 2: Preheat oven to 180°C/Gas mark 4. Remove the shells from packaging and place on a baking tray standing on their open sides and heat for 2-3 minutes. Take the shells out of the oven carefully and divide the filling between the crispy taco shells.
Toppings: Shredded lettuce and grated cheddar cheese plus Santa Maria salsa or Santa Maria soured cream topping. You can also add other fresh vegetables such as tomatoes.

three ingredients
Tasty tacos that have only three ingredients (we are trying to avoid ultra-processed foods). A cupboard staple.

These are now our favourite taco shells, they taste great and aren't too thick.

Had these as part of a Disney meal bundle. We loved these compared to El Paso ones. Harder in texture and had more taste. None broken in the ones I received. Lovely on there own out of the oven as well.
Odd taste and texture
I'd expected these to have a similar taste/texture to other taco shells that I've had. However, the only thing that they taste of is some kind of oil and although several of them broke when taking them out of their packaging they still felt thick for taco shells.
