We love it
Despite all the bad reviews, we gave this Seedlip Spice and the Seedlip Garden a chance. Well, I have to say we’re definitely fans now. I actually calculated that if you take the alcohol tax out, this comes out at the same price as a £36 (or so) gin bottle. Now, if you’re used to £20 bottles of gin, you’re obviously going to find this expensive. And if you’re used to £40 odd bottles of gin (and there are A LOT of those around), then this isn’t too bad for what tasted to us like a perfect gin & (flavoured) tonic minus the alcohol. We’ve loved them so much, we’re barely drinking the alcoholic version anymore. And no, this isn’t just “flavoured” water. If you can manage to flavour water with these spices, without distillation, then you shouldn’t be wasting your time writing a review. If you like a very junipery gin (our favourite is our local Jarrold’s) then you’ll love this. We drink the Spice one just like sloe gin - 1/3 gin, 1/3 lemon Fever Tree, 1/3 tonic Fever Tree (or Mediterranian) and the Garden one like the Jarrold’s - with Cucumber or Elderflower Fever Tree and always with some lime and ice. Delicious.
flavoured water - in a nice bottle
and incredibly expensive - better off pouring some tonic and adding some herbs because though this is packaged as a 'gin' substitute it really is a con.
Seedlip is seriously overrated and expensive
I wish I could understand the hype. Its literally flavoured water that you use as a type of cordial. Ive had seedlip spice in mocktails in bars/restaurants and theyre ok but I dont have all the gear, syrups etc to make it at home! Ill stick to ordering it when Im out. I still cant understand why its so expensive-it doesnt even have alcohol tax?!!
I reallly wanted to like this
I've been trying to find a grown up tasting drink that I can have instead of alcohol. I'm not that mad about drinking booze but hate most over sweetened soft drinks even more. This had so much promise, but £26???? Really?! It's just barely flavoured water. Wouldn't mind paying so much if it actually tasted of something. Much cheaper to just drink the tonic water on its own.
Wasn't. As a no alcohol drink it delivers but to me I'm reminded of the antiseptic taste of a dentists mouthwash. 42 I like, 108 I shall try but this one will need a strong mixer to get through it. Not good
expensive and disappointing
Love the concept and branding but the taste of the spice one is not great and the price eye watering. Would like to taste the other two flavours but not at this price so sadly Im out...
