A competent extra mature, but not really vintage
I mean to call this seriously strong or vintage is a stretch. If your brand is Seriously Strong then you set expectations. It's matured for 20 months. To put that into context, that's only two more than a Davidstow extra mature. The cheese is perfectly competent as an extra mature, but it's not what I'd call vintage in clout.
Best vintage cheddar!
We think this is the best vintage cheddar! It's crumbly and sharp. Don't understand the bad reviews!
Nice
Purchased this to try when on offer. Nice texture, slightly crumbly and a nice taste, wouldn't say vintage but a good mature cheese. Perfect for sandwiches.
have they changed it?
when first launched on the market this was a mile above pigrinms choice and cathedral city- strong, nutty flavour. Recently its become more like them - bland and uninteresting. Its more of a sheep than a cow
typical hard cheddar cheese
Your standard British hard cheddar cheese. It is that typical, generic, mass-marketed cheddar cheese flavour, similar in taste to other major cheddar cheese brands in the UK.
Delicious!
I love the taste of this cheese. Its one of my favourites. Its strong in flavour. I love its crumbly texture. I love it in sandwiches, macaroni, as a snack with fresh and dried fruit or simply on its own. I will continue to buy.
