Cooking guidelines
Cooking Instructions - General. Cooking Precautions:
- All appliances vary, these are guidelines only.
- If you prefer a rare product, reduce the cooking times accordingly.
- If cooked rare there is a small risk that harmful bacteria will be present.
- All meat products require thorough cooking before consumption.
- Not suitable for microwave cooking.
- Not suitable for cooking from frozen.; Shallow Fry - From Chilled. 2-6 minutes. Medium/High heat.
- Remove all packaging & allow meat to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
- Lightly brush both sides of the steaks with oil and season with salt and black pepper.
- Fry in a very hot dry heavy based pan over a high heat for 1 minute on each side to seal in the juices.
- For a rare steak reduce to a medium heat and continue to cook for a further 1 minute (medium) or 2-3 minutes (well done), turning once.
- Remove the steak from the pan and allow to rest in a warm place for 3-5 minutes.
- Pour the cooking juices over the steak and serve immediately.
