Product Information
Sipsmith Origin 1639 is a recreation of the first known recipe to combine juniper, citrus and spices, the modern structure of gin - published in London in 1639. Deciphered by Master Distiller Jared Brown and his wife Anistatia Miller, this recipe suggests gin did in fact originate in Britain, not in Holland as some believe.
Tasting Notes
Juniper forward, bright berry notes, with a spiced backbone.
Craftsmanship in the making
Crafted using a grain spirit typically used in whisky making, imparting a rounded complexity and buttery mouthfeel.
The distillate is infused with raspberries and strawberries before resting in oak barrels. Emulating traditional 17th century production methods, this gives the gin a subtle pink tint and may impart slight natural variations in colour.
Please drink responsibly: The UK Chief Medical Officers recommend adults do not regularly drink more than 14 units per week
