Tricky but does work

As a previous reviewer states, I too thought this was rubbish and nearly sent it back. It didn't seem to make water fizzy at all. However I then realised it wasn't the machine, but the bottles. There is a wiggly line on the bottle which seems to be guiding you as to where to fill, but filling only to the line means the gas nozzle barely touches the water and most of the gas escapes. For it to work, you have to ignore this line and fill to at least 1cm above that, so that the end of the nozzle is fully submerged in the water. Then press the button very firmly for 1 or 2 seconds, keeping an eye on the bottle so it doesn't bubble over. Repeat this 3 or 4 times and you should have a very fizzy result. It doesn't come with any detailed instructions so you're left to figure this out yourself - hopefully this helps someone else who may be struggling. With that being said I'm now very glad I bought it, and since buying two more bottles, have never run out of fizzy water and pop. The gas canisters are not cheap but they last a good 6 - 8 weeks depending on use (at least 1 bottle a day for me and often 2) and Sodastream give you money back on returns/refills. My only grumble is how difficult it is to find cola and lemonade syrups so you can make your own replicas. Top tip: I've found the Robinson's tiny concentrated bottles work best so far, as they don't water down the fizz. Fizzy apple and blackcurrant is amazing!

perfect water

Bit of trial and error getting the level of fizz right. I like mine very fizzy and am easily able to achieve this unlike review below. Very pleased.

bit disappointed

I wanted an alternative to buying lots of plastic bottles and cans. However, this doesn't actually make the drinks very fizzy - and needs much more gas than suggested in the instructions. I suspect it won't get a lot of use.
