Lovingly selected herbs and spices with a recipe to make the ultimate chilli con carne to serve four.
A clever little (no waste) pack of 100% pure herbs & spices, 'mayan' spiced chocolate and recipe that serves four.
It all began with one hungry student, a bunch of other hungry students and a mum's specially blended herbs and spices...
Back in 1994 when Ketan was at university, his mum, Manjula, sent him recipes and spices to make real Indian curries that would remind him of home. Pretty soon all his friends were hooked and the idea for Spicentice was born.
All these years lather the range has grown to include Indian, Thai, Jamaican, Moroccan, Portuguese and Cajun and Mexican recipes offering a real home cooked experience to share with family and friends (which makes Ketan's mum very happy).

Good Little Kit
Have tried several of the Spicentice kits but this has remained my favourite, it gives the chilli a lovely flavour and kick
I love this little pack; makes a lovely chili and it feels like actual cooking rather than pouring stuff from a jar. I buy one every other week.
Not as good as their other kits
Makes a fairly pleasant chilli but no more exciting than one of usually make at Home by chucking in some spices from the cupboard. Their Indian curry kits are fantastic (and so much less work than cooking from scratch and better than bought jars/pastes) and the tagine one too, but I wouldnt bother the extra expense of buying this one again personally.
What a good idea & makes a fab hot chilli. Yes you could put the mix together yourself, but why would you when it's all done for you. Now to try the other Spicentice mixes..
It was easy to prepare and tasted nice, but not hot enough for my taste. To be honest if you are a reasonably competent cook, I think it is just as easy to make your own from scratch. I cook a lot, so I already have all the spices to hand and you just add a couple of good quality dark chocolate squares a couple of mins before cooking is finished, which gives you a really deep lovely flavour. But this mix is a good solution for the less experienced cook or if you are short of time.
Perfect chilli con carne
I'm usually averse to cooking kits, preferring to cook from scratch. But this is superb. It's still cooking from scratch, only more organised. Just follow the instructions and you cannot go wrong. Impressive!
