I have absolutely no idea why this has 4 1/2 stars, we bought this to make part of our 3 tiered cake and some fondant models. We used about 5 other blocks of icing and they were all perfect, but when we used this cracks appeared everywhere and it barely stretches. Even after it dried pieces kept falling apart for no reason other than the abysmal quality of icing. Under no circumstances buy this, especially if you dont make many cakes, because it is impossible to work with and will ruin the entire experience.

Bought this to cover an Anniversary cake when my usual supplier of Renshaws icing had none in stock. Very impressed and would definitely buy again. Beautiful smooth finish. Easy to use. Ready to use. A lot for the price. Useful packaging. Will buy this one in future

DO NOT BUY THIS

I make and ice four Christmas cakes every year and can say this is the worst icing Ive ever used - dry, crumbly, cracked, useless. No amount of kneading could make it smooth and crease free so Ive just spent an extremely disappointing few hours icing the Christmas cakes that Im now embarrassed to give as presents because they look so awful. Ive previously used M&S, Tesco, Sainsburys - all are FAR superior to this crap. I dont understand the previous glowing reviews. Awful.

Dry

Texture was dry and crumbly, and no amount of kneading helped. Tried warming in the microwave which helped slightly'. Will not be buying again.

Great product and easy to revive

Bought this for Christmas cake last year , but didn't use it all up so it became really hard. I tried a tip that I had seen to soften it in the microwave for 20 - 30 seconds and it worked a treat, so no waste!

Excellent product

I used this to ice a big fruitcake (2 packs together) and it was very easy to knead and roll out to shape. It's strong and produced a smooth finish. The icing actually tastes nice too which is unusual. Recommend it. Fairtrade too.
