Perfect for a martini
In a G&T it doesnt taste much different to the standard Bombay Sapphire, but it makes all the difference in a martini. Personally I wouldnt waste it with a mixer- I drink it with dry vermouth, blue curacao and a squeeze of lemon juice for a nice strong sapphire martini. You cant drink much of it as its very strong, but the flavour is fab!
Invisible in a G&T
I bought this on offer and based on the couple of good reviews. It may be a good gin for martini but it doesn't stand out in a G&T. The fever tree tonic water was more interesting before I added the gin. it added no discernible flavour. I'd recommend spending more on The Botanist from Islay. Really disappointing.
This is a perfectly pleasant gin, although possibly a bit subtle for mixing with tonic. It makes a reasonable martini, but is not a patch on London No 3 or Tanqueray Ten, both of which are similarly priced and far better.
This has a similar taste to the standard Bombay Sapphire, but is much smoother and more refined. Can be enjoyed neat on the rocks. Makes a fantastic Martini. If you consider the extra strength, this is incredible value for such high quality. Can't decide whether this or Camden Half Hitch is my favourite... I do like a bit of bergamot!
Beatiful gin. Great for a special occasion.
Star of Bombay is noticeably different in flavour to the regular. It's sold at 47.5% compared to 40% for the regular. Bombay Sapphire Eastern was not worth the extra, to my taste. This is!
