Stauning Danish Rye offers a taste of rye grains which have been grown on the west coast of Denmark for over 2000 years, this rye is deeply rooted in the land and cultural heritage of Denmark.


Designed with simplicity and a respect for nature at its core, Stauning Rye Whisky is made with local Danish rye and barley using traditional craftsmanship: 100% floor malted in the distillery, double distilled in small direct-fired copper pot stills and matured in virgin American white oak barrels.


Stauning Rye Whisky is winner of a Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2023, Double Gold at New York International Spirits Competition 2023 and Double Platinum at the American Spirits Council of Tasters 2023.

Enjoy drinking Stauning Rye Whisky neat, on ice, or in a whisky cocktail such as the Cherry Manhattan:


5 cl. (2 oz.) Stauning Rye Whisky,
1 barspoon Cherry Heering liqueur,
1 barspoon Orgeat syrup.


Stir ingredients together in an ice filled tumbler glass and serve. Garnish with an edible flower or cherry for a special touch.

Located in the flat and serene landscape of West Coast Denmark - the place that many Danes come to unwind and get back to nature - Stauning Whisky Distillery was founded in 2005 by a collective of nine friends setting out to make a difference and bring whisky distilling back to Denmark. They focused on traditional production methods to create whisky reflecting the Danish ethos. What they created was a purpose-built distillery that embodies modern Danish design and a thoughtfully designed production process.

Freshly baked rye bread and warm baking spices on the nose. On the palate ripe cherries, smoked tea, and citrus fruits. The mouthfeel is creamy and full bodied. Balanced out by vanilla and a gently peppery finish.
