Bland
I love tartare sauce and usually buy Colmans. It was out of stock so I bought this one instead. What a disappointment! So bland without the normal flavour or tartare sauce, almost just like mayonnaise. I wouldnt but again and will go back to Colmans!
ok but wouldnt repurchase
Im usually a fan of Stokes, but this was something and nothing. I wouldnt buy it again. Lacking the punchy flavour that tartar sauce should have.
why rapeseed?
I'm desperately trying to find a sauce product that doesn't contain cheap and nasty rapeseed oil! It doesn't belong in food! it saps all flavour from everything and it's not healthy either.
Poor packaging
The first time we bought this product it was sealed properly and tasted great! However, the second and third time we tried this the lid was completely loose when we received it so we were unable to use the product. Won't be buying again.
Lovely and tangy
The nicest one I've tried! It has lots of whole capers in and is lovely and tangy.
Buy TRACKLEMENTS tartare instead!
Had bought this regularly for years until recently! Since they’ve changed the recipe this has become unpalatable. Tastes like cheap mayo… and has almost no capers or gherkin in it anymore. The tartare by Tracklements is FAR superior and i can’t recommend it enough as an alternative to this. The whole family agrees! Tracklements all the way.
