Has it changed?
10th August, 2017 I wrote, Quite a lot of crunchy in this nut butter which I find makes it a little less sticky whem eating by the teaspoon ful. It is a little sweetened and a touch of salt. Delicious. 20th May, 2019 I am writing, What's happened? Has the recipe changed? The last few jars of this I have bought have been awful. Super smooth peanut butter with an emulsified texture with added crunchy bits. Hardly any peanut taste, totally wrong texture. Never any oil separating - have they added more emulsifier? Off my shopping list for now.
Love the texture and crunch. Creamy to bite. And it tasted proper unlike some other supermarket Brands
We have been trying out other, purer, peanut butters, trying to eat naturally on a bit of a health kick, but never found anything as yummy as this. The texture of all the others is very cloying and heavy, and I've concluded that a little bit of what you really like must be good for you. So, we are back to being a Sun-Pat household and we are happy with that!
The original...and the best
Having virtuously been buying organic peanut butter in recent years, I have rediscovered the delicious yumminess of Sun Pat. Tastes as good as it did as a child. Marvellous on a toasted bagel. Right balance of smooth texture with crunchy bits as opposed to others which are so crunchy they can be too dry. No palm oil either!
NOT PALM OIL FREE
Unfortunately I won't be buying this again since I have had it confirmed that the E471 is manufactured from Palm Oil. Such a shame.
Delicious in sarnies or (shhh! )straight from jar
To be honest, I only buy this when the Waitrose own-brand PB is out of stock as it's a tad more expensive and the quality is much the same. Having said that, it's a great consistency and tastes absolutely delicious. AND - a major bonus - the Sun-Pat 600g jar, unlike the Sun-Pat 340g jar, doesn't have a silly shape which makes it hard to get at the last few teaspoonfuls! Enjoy.
