Product Information
Inmune In Spanish means immune. Immune to disease, to failure, to setbacks, to critics, etc. inmune is completely a different guy, a fugitive, nothing to see with the elegance of the rest of our range. We aimed to make a powerful, deep and concentrated wine, with nice weight and tannins in which the purity of the fruit garnacha would shine.

Brand details
We do sustainable, traditional vineyard management using only organic and natural products to prevent plagues respecting the environment. We do not use weed killers. We dry farm saving water and getting further complexity. We treat with a tractor just twice a year, avoiding CO2 emissions. We respect our growers paying grapes at the right price to maintain their estates properly. At the winery: fully built in concrete and partially underground temperature is naturally kept all year round. Minimal use of pumps as most rackings are gravity fed and at fermentation we use pigeage instead of pumping over. Minimal waste of water. Bottling and labelling cellar is North facing to work with natural light. Tandem means “at last” and represents the aspiration of its two partners and promoters, to fulfil a dream and the mission which they have taken upon themselves. This is a different Garnacha with an Atlantic style due to our proximity to the Bay of Biscay.

History
Tandem is the brainchild of Jose Maria Fraile and Alicia Eyaralar, two of the leading lights in the Navarra winemaking scene. Committed to making the best wines in the region with minimal intervention in the vineyards and winery, Tandem is cited by critics as ‘cutting edge’ Navarra. The grapes are cultivated in the heart of the Yerri Valley, which is recognised as the best area for quality wine in the region. Respect for nature is an obsession - they follow the precepts of sustainable viticulture, while maintaining the vineyard’s health and viability. In the winery, a minimum intervention approach is also taken to ensure the grapes reflect their true character and terroir.

Regional information
The grapes come from several vineyards: La Cepeta, La Losilla and El Barranco in the D.O. Navarra region. The vineyards are situated at 650-700 metres above sea level and this high elevation results in a cool microclimate, with cool summer evenings creating excellent diurnal temperature differences. These cooler temperatures help to promote a long, slow ripening period, which in turn produces a natural acidity in the grapes and concentrates the flavours in the berries. The bush vines vary in age, with some vines being over 80 years old. They are grown in calcareous, clay-loam soils.
Tasting notes
This mountain wine displays a powerful expression of terroir, with intense blackcurrant, raspberry aromas enhanced by subtle hints of eucalyptus, dark chocolate, lavender and notes of garrigue. The palate is fresh, broad and savoury with an appealing texture and a long finish.

Vinification details
The wine was made following an organic philosophy. Wild yeast fermentation took place over 10 days at a controlled temperature of 25°C, in stainless steel vats. The cap was gently plunged, known as pigeage, to extract the desired levels of fine tannins and colour. No pumps were used during the vinification, instead the wine was racked via gravity to the underground concrete vats where the wines finished fermentation and underwent malolactic conversion. The wine was unoaked to maintain the freshness and purity of the Garnacha fruit, spending six months in concrete lined vats, where it underwent a natural and gentle stabilisation. Bottled by gravity with minimum filtration.
