Recipes

To make Strawberry jam
1kg Strawberries, washed, drained & hulled
1kg Tate & Lyle Fairtrade Granulated Sugar
1 sachet of Tate & Lyle Pectin
Juice of 1 Fairtrade Lemon

Put the Strawberries into a large saucepan, cook gently over a low heat for 15 mins. Add the granulated sugar and pectin and stir until dissolved, then boil steadily for about 15-30 minutes, or until setting point is reached (To test for the setting point place a teaspoon of jam onto a cold plate, leave a few seconds, push the jam with a finger, if the surface wrinkles, setting point has been reached). Allow to stand for 30 minutes and remove the film from the surface with a slotted spoon. Stir jam and carefully pour into sterilised jars, cover, label and date.
