Cooking guidelines
Oven cook - From Chilled. Remove all packaging including the trussing band. Pull out legs to open cavity. All appliances may vary, the following are guidelines only.
Oven cooked from chilled. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking.
Pre-heat oven to 190°C, Fan 170°C, Gas Mark 5. Place chicken in a roasting dish on the middle shelf of the oven. Cook for the calculated time on the front of the pack (20 mins per 500g + 25 mins). Baste occasionally during cooking.
To check the chicken is cooked, insert a skewer into the thickest part of the meat. If the juices run clear the chicken is cooked, if they run pink, return to the oven for a further 20 minutes and re-test. Check product is piping hot before serving.
Do not re-heat. Once cooked, remove from oven.
Cover the chicken with foil and allow to rest for 15 minutes before carving.
