Preparation and Usage

This product contains raw meat and should be cooked according to packet instructions. After cooking check food is piping hot before serving.

Cooking guidelines

Air Fry - From Chilled. Place sausages in a single layer in the air fryer at 180°C and cook for 8-10 minutes.; Cooking Instructions - General. Remove all packaging. All appliances vary, the following are guidelines only.; Grill - From Chilled. Preheat grill to medium. Place on rack for 14-16 minutes.
Turn occasionally.; Oven cook - From Chilled. Preheat oven 190°C, 170°C Fan, Gas mark 5. Place in roasting tin for 25-30 minutes. Turn half way through cooking.; Shallow Fry - From Chilled. Heat a dessert spoon of oil in a frying pan. Fry on medium heat for 14-16 minutes, turning regularly. Drain before serving.

Recipe Sausages with Spicy Tomato Lentils This hearty dish is a great way to enjoy the humble sausage. Serves 6 250g Puy lentils 1 tablespoon olive oil 2 x 400g packs The Black Farmer Premium Pork Sausages 2 red onions slices 3 garlic cloves, crushed 2 large carrots, diced 1 large rosemary sprig 600ml chicken stock 2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley salt and freshly ground black pepper For the sweet and spicy tomato sauce 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 onion, finely chopped 2 teaspoons garlic puree 2 tablespoons tomato puree 1 vegetable stock cube 1 bouquet garni 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano 100ml red wine 1/2 teaspoon dried mint juice of 1 lemon 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar 1 tablespoon mild or hot chilli powder 2 tablespoons demerara sugar Heat the oil for the sauce in a wide saucepan and gently cook the onion and garlic puree for 3-4 minutes until starting to soften. Add the tomato puree and cook for 1 minute, stirring. Stir in the remaining ingredients and bring to the boil. Gently simmer for 20 minutes until reduced, stirring occasionally. Check the seasoning, discard the bouquet garni and set aside. Meanwhile, put the lentils in a pan of cold water and bring to the boil. Simmer for 5 minutes then drain and rinse. Set aside. Heat the oil in a heavy-based saucepan and cook the sausages for 5 minutes, turning until brown all over. Remove and set aside. Add the onions, garlic, carrots and rosemary sprig to the pan and cook for 8-10 minutes until starting to soften. Return the sausages and lentils to the saucepan and pour in the stock and the sweet and spicy tomato sauce. Bring to the boil and simmer for 30 minutes until the lentils are tender and the sauce has thickened. Check the seasoning, sprinkle with the parsley and serve immediately.
