not really "Tomato & basil"
this sauce was added to our usual vegetable pasta sauce with added can of chopped tomatoes. i felt the label was misleading as it is actually a creamy sauce, rather than classic tomato and basil that i was expecting. i wont be buying again as i prefer classic pasta sauce (that is already vegan). nevertheless there were no complaints from the family
Yummy sauce for pasta
I really like this sauce. I used it when making a pasta dish. It was easy to use and has a long enough shelf life so you don't have to use all in one go. Has a fresh, slightly sweet - like cherry tomatoes - taste and the basil isn't too over powering. It is ever so slightly watery when you add to the pasta but you can't tell that when you eat it. On offer for 2 for £4 which is a good price. You need about 1/3 of a pot for one lunch time serving.
This sauce is awful it's texture is like a chunky tomato soup it should definetly not be called tomato and basil. It's not that hard to make a vegan sauce with tomato and basil. They put thickener in it
Vegan Tomato and mascarpone pasta sauce
Such a lovely sauce, reminds me of tomato and mascarpone, it doesn't taste of coconut at all. Great non dairy alternative.
New favourite pasta sauce, tastes almost homemade and doesnt contain garlic which is a bonus in my opinion.
You expect a classic Italian tomato basil sauce, traditionally both gluten free and vegan long before we felt the need for such labels. You get a tomato sauce thickened with soya milk and creamed coconut, neither of which should be anywhere near a classic Italian tomato basil sauce. The coconut taste is a bit jarring. The product description also mentions celery as an ingredient but go figure, celery isn't in the ingredient list. Wouldn't buy again. Can't recommend.
