really fresh fruity wine
A really fruity flavour with very slight sweetness. Tried this based on reviews and as it was on offer and glad I did. Something a bit different from my normal Marlborough Sauvignon blanc. Would buy again.
A joy to find delicious, less acidic white wine
Tried this on a whim and glad I did. Maybe a little too buttery for my taste but still very good. More important, from my perspective, is that this is a white wine that doesn't give me heartburn (so long as I stick to one or two glasses). Those complaining about the price increase in recent years might want to ask what's happened to add £3 onto a bottle of wine imported from the EU. Hmmmm, I wonder...maybe it's one of those benefits we keep being told exist.
usually only drink Gewürztraminer but this is nice
The fact it was blended with some made me give it a go. I find most wines too acidic and get instant heartburn but this was lovely. The same perfumey taste and smell as a Gewürztraminer. Id still probably go for the usual most of the time but Id definitely get this again, maybe for when the weather is sunny or we had friends coming over.
1 of my 2 faves
Have loved this since I first tried it about 8 years ago. 1 of my 2 favourite wines, at around a fiver cheaper than the other it's a no brainer I have bought this many times. I'm no expert but I find this fresh, citrusy, but flavoursome, it has lime so that may be why I love it, I don't really pick up on the honey. I think it was around £5 when I started drinking it so now at £9 I buy rarely or when on offer.
My wife's favourite
This is easy drinking aromatic wine similar to NZ Sauvignon Blancs but less acidic. Great for summer and goes well with white fish and seafood .
Disappointed
It's a perfectly nice wine, but absolutely nothing special. From the reviews, my expectations were perhaps a little high? Back to Villa Maria as a casual drinking wine with food, at this price point, for us.
