leaking packaging

About a quarter of the sugar was in the bottom of the carrier bag. But on inspection there was no damage to the sugar pack, it was just a really badly made base (for some reason there were deep cuts into the corners where the base is folded) which was leaking sugar. Ill be buying a different brand in future!

Cheapish sugar with a charity donation.

Not really sure what the problem is. Is it as good as Fair Trade? No clue. Is it better than the mass of sugar out there, in donating money that would otherwise never reach a good cause? Well, you'd hope and assume so. And it's sugar, at a sensible price.

Misleading

If you want to support good causes buy properly certified Fairtrade goods with the Fairtrade logo. Who knows what this is really doing? Not enough to pass the Fairtrade test I would guess.

Not beet sugar

But again cane sugar. UK grows beet, as a finished sugar product is not different to cane sugar, but we cannot buy beet sugar products. Why?

Good quality worth an extra 20p for charity

Perfectly good sugar, no different from Tate & Lyle, used in baking and ice cream making. For the same quality it's worth the extra 20p for charity. Not sure what the review is talking below but Trade Aid doesn't appear to have any links to Tate & Lyle!
