delicious VeggieDay mince
Really tasty and at such a good price. Great with pasta.
The best in my opinion
I have made a bolognaise and chilli con carne sauce using this mince. In fact the chilli con carne, made using a well known cook in sauce, was one of the nicest Ive made. Dont judge Im disabled and cant cook from scratch anymore! Its a real game changer for me. Ive tried most on the market but this product beat them all hands down. I have found with using these products its all in the cooking. You really cant treat it like beef mince.
Disgusting!
Made a lasagne using this and the whole meal was ruined. Turns a dark brown / grey colour in the frying pan and just tastes disgusting. Whole dinner went in the bin which was a waste of the other ingredients too. Very disappointed.
Terrible!
I was hoping this would be nice, unfortunately not! After making a bolognaise with this, it went straight in the compost! Mushy and unpleasant consistency when cooked. Unfortunately, Ocado no longer sells The Vegetarian Butcher Magic Mince. This was amazing but despite endless requests to Ocado, they didn’t re-stock it. Also The Meatless Farm mince was lovely too but sadly they had to shutdown as there was too much competition for them to survive. Please find a decent vegetarian mince Ocado!
Doing my bit (I hope)
I've been trying to cut down on meat for moral reasons. In truth, if you're looking for something to replace meat, you'll be disappointed in terms of flavour and the ultra processed nature of alternatives. But this is one of the better alternatives in terms of flavour; and my conscience feels a little lighter when I eat it.
