Founded in Reims in 1772, the House of Veuve Clicquot remains true to its motto: “Only one quality, the finest.” In 1805, Madame Clicquot took the reins of the House and became one of the first businesswomen of modern times, acquiring the epithet “La Grande Dame of Champagne.” Her visionary spirit and innate sense of French “art de vivre” live on today.

The name La Grande Dame was inspired by Madame Clicquot's nickname: "La Grande Dame de la Champagne". La Grande Dame 2018 is the 24th vintage since 1962, when Veuve Clicquot launched its first prestige cuvée to celebrate the House's bicentenary.

The freshness of the wines is attributed to the purity of the soil and the unique terroir of Champagne, France. The vineyards primarily consist of Grands Crus and Premiers Crus, with all vineyards managed through sustainable viticulture. Additionally, they are 100% herbicide-free, ensuring a natural and eco-friendly approach to winemaking.
