Brand details
In 1805, the young widow Madame Clicquot took the reins of the House, founded in 1772. Audacious, she invented the first known vintage champagne, the riddling table and the first blended rosé. Her taste for excellence lives on in the wine style: Pinot Noir predominance, largest collection of reserve wines, superb terroir of which 6 grands crus and long maturation. From the moment she first took over the House, Madame Clicquot was anything but a figurehead. She was an engaged leader and a prolific inventor, driven by a sense of curiosity, pragmatism, and excellence. Nothing speaks to her ingenuity and long-lasting impact more than her three most notable inventions: the first recorded vintage champagne (1810), the riddling table (table de remuage - 1816), blended rosé champagne (rosé d'assemblage - 1818)
