Palm oil - avoid at all costs and save orangutans
Removed from my list. Waitrose must stop using palm oil- in products in their own name too!! Ocado must stop stocking items with palm oil in ingredients.
bought a couple at £1 . best before end December 2019. I got them for mince pies but not considering buying more if still available next shop to use in Christmas cake/stollen and maybe in easter bakes too. I am pleased with the 7% brandy content as it means I do not need to bring alcohol into the house.
Delicious In A Cake
I agree that this is a little runny hence only 4 stars but its the nicest tasting mincemeat Ive had for a long time. I found a mincemeat cake recipe online and it was delicious. Ive just ordered some more while its on offer.
we love this
surprised by the bad reviews. we love the strong brandy flavour, which you'd expect given the name. second year buying it.
Slightly overpowering straight from the jar but after cooking (in mince pies) this calms down enough to be really nice. Tried this and the Waitrose mincemeat without brandy and for me, this is much better.
I love mince pies, and despite being August, i decided to make some in order to use up some sell by date pastry. Initially, when you open the jar the smell of alcohol is quite overwhelming! But it doesnt come through after cooking, nor does any spice or warmth or aroma or citrus. Its just bland. The least Christmassy mincemeat Ive tasted yet. Hopefully theyve changed the recipe for Christmas 2018!
