Very dirty & loads of damaged bits.
Not sure I would bother with these again, they has so much dirt on them I had to soak & scrub them before I could use them. They also weren't all knobbly the way artichokes should be. Think I'll stick to one of the other brands.
Great joy and happiness.
Oh Yipee fartichokes, so pleased to find these, just wash and scrub and boil for twentyish minutes. Eat with skin on with lashings of butter and some salt. Delicious.
Yay! Artichoke season!
These are probably the only veg we truly eat in season - they are very difficult to find the rest of the year. Fave recipe is to chop, sauté and steam them then mash up and combine with sautéed bacon, leeks and sage. Delicious in giant pasta shells or stirred through tagliatelle, topped with Parmesan and crisped under the grill. Hooray for autumn!
I tried these for the first time when they were on offer. Roasted with garlic, they were delicious!!
These are tasty. A pain to prepare but totally worth it, the flavour is amazing. And after reading the reviews I will try to soak and scrub.. I use them to make Delia's carrot and Artichoke soup, a staple in my house for work lunches and quick week day dinners. Loved by my 16 month old to my partner. I will be sad when they go out of season.
These are so much better than artichokes used to be. They just need soaking for 20 mins, no peeling. Rub over and chop into chunks and roast with a little oil, salt and pepper, or add to a beef stew, such an unusual nutty flavour. Can also be eaten raw.
