I bake a lot and have always used the cheapest flour and there has been nothing wrong with it. Recently though I thought I would try the Leckford SR white flour. I think it is superior with lighter results. I will go on using from now on. Will have to try the Leckford plain flour to see if it improves my pastry results!
Just made a batch of scones, no egg, no baking powder. Beautiful
this is rubbish
Not sure what happened as I was expecting great things from the other reviews. This tastes stale for starters even straight out of the packet it smells stale. Secondly its really lumpy. Im wondering if it was stored badly or something. I made American pancakes, twice now in the hope of improvement, but it just doesnt rise and is anything but fluffy. Stodgy is more like it. Will be going back to my usual dove farm four which produces great results every time
Best Flour Ever!
I have been baking and experimenting a lot with different makes including organic. This flour beats all the rest in my experience. I was substituted for an organic flour and I thank Ocado for introducing me to such a lovely flour. Excellent results every time.
Made scones with this and they were the best ever. The flour feels really nice when you mix it - Not like dry ash, which I found was the case with a well know make. I don't think I would use anything else now.
