History
As the 21st century moves ahead, it is hard to imagine the Marlborough landscape without hundreds of thousands of vines. But it hasn't always been this way. In reality the march of vines across the plains and gently sloping hills of the region only began back in 1973. Prior to that Marlborough was better known for its abundance of sunshine and its production of barley and lucerne.
Regional Information
New Zealand's premier wine producing region of Marlborough is located in the north of the South Island. Internationally renown for its iconic Sauvignon Blanc grown in the Wairau and Awatere Valleys, Marlborough is defined by its unique geography and soil diversity, coupled with moderating cool sea winds from the east and a staggering 2,409 average hours of sunshine and only 655mm of rain per year, create ideal conditions for premium grape and wine production.

Bitter

Bought some of this a while ago and it was quite drinkable, however bought some more a couple of weeks ago and it was bitter and it was undrinkable. I usually like New Zealand Sauvignon but not this one.

lovely tasty Sauvignon

I really love the expensive floral, tasty Marlborough Sauvignons and this is a much cheaper but still very aromatic and flavoursome wine. Big hit in our house but may be an acquired taste!
