Worst mincemeat ever
I don't know if I got a dud jar but really...I've never seen mincemeat with so little fruit in it. The texture was gelatinous and sloppy and the flavour was blandly sweet - I'm seriously worried I've ruined my Christmas cake this year by using it in the recipe...I can't see myself using the rest of the jar for pies unless I add extra fruit to it and maybe some brandy or sherry. Will never buy again.
contains non sustainable palm oil
So didnt bother trying it
Too thin, lacks fruit
For me, this is too thin and lacks fruit and depth of flavour. I make my own mincemeat, but it's always good to have a jar in the cupboard for last minute baking. Sadly, this won't be by cupboard staple, I would recommend making your own than buying this one
Didnt think you could go wrong with mincemeat but didnt like the flavour of this one, the citrus taste was too overpowering. Was also very wet so a lot of the juice came out. Worst mince pies I ever made.
What a shocker
When I opened the jar I thought how wet it looked. There is no substance to it. And lets not even discuss the flavour. This is not mincemeat as you know it.
worse purchase ever
Just used Waitrose Christmas mincemeat for the first and only time. The mincemeat was too wet that oozed out of the pastry. The flavour of the mincemeat was like nothing Ive ever had over the years, an overpowering flavour of lemon. All in all could sadly not recommend this, disappointing for a Waitrose & Partners items.
