taste vaguely mouldy to me

Really gross. Tasted bad despite being fresh and have an unpleasant texture.

Not really crumpets

They're not unpleasant as such, hence the two stars, but they're just not crumpets. They're sort of cake with holes in it. Sweeter with a sort of toasted, almost caramel-like taste. Hard to describe. As I say, not unpleasant, but not crumpets.

I love these and think they are better than genius. especially for making toasted pizza crumpets or baked pizza crumpets

Revolting

I did buy these crumpets with some trepidation after reading the reviews but when my normal Genius brand was out of stock thought I would give it a go. Unfortunately these were inedible and went in the bin. The bottoms were burnt which I could have put up with if it was not for the sweet caramelised flavour of the crumpet itself. I normally enjoy my crumpets plain with some dairy free spread but these were so sweet that I could not eat them. I will stick to genius which are so much tastier and do not recommend to others.
