An Italian heavyweight. Rich, robust and full bodied with aromas of cherries, raspberries and a hint of pepper.
Franco Roero farms 15 hectares of vines. He is a straight talking, no nonsense type of guy and his family has been making wine here since 1894. Franco personally manages the entire process, from pruning the vines to harvesting, fermentation and even sales. His passionate belief is that there is only one wine in the world, his Barbera, and only one football team, Juventus.
This Barbera comes from a range of hills within the Monferrato UNESCO World Heritage area called the Zucchetto, a word also used to describe the little pumpkin hat the Pope wears. Infallibly good, enjoy it with rich risottos, red meat and, why not, haggis.
Fermentation on the skins at a controlled temperature of 26° C. 4 months ageing in stainless steel tanks
