With their vibrant sheen and kidney-shaped curves there are very few veg that can rival this unassuming legume in either the taste or dashing looks department. We dart between mainland europe, Jersey and the UK to ensure that your taste buds are never compromised in our ongoing quest to find sublime beans that marry a seductively silky outside with a light, creamy and ever so slightly bitter inside.
If nothing else, we¿ve always found de-podding beans to be a strangely satisfying and therapeutic pastime.
Broad beans are rich in foliate and vitamin B which is useful when it comes to replenishing our nerve and blood cells, keeping our cognitive functions shipshape and generating a little extra energy.

Not much at all
Some of the pods were empty, you get a small handful of broad beans, thats all.
Lovely tasting beans
Just not enough of them. Some pods didn't have beans in at all. Once podded I was left with 130g of beans that then needed cooking and skinning, so only left with enough for one portion! Expensive for amount. Maybe more in the pods as we get further into the season?
It's all about the Right SEASON
Though I have bought these beans, I believe that the quality of beans depends on the season. Buy these beans at the right season, you've get wonderful beans. Or be disappointed.
These have always been fine when I've ordered them. The outside can be a bit black and the beans inside are fine.
Fresh, flavourful. We loved them. No mouldy pods.
Delicious eaten raw
I podded and peeled the beans and then added them, uncooked, to a salade Nicoise they were excellent. The speckled pods had no effect on them.
