Product Information

Butternut Squash is a type of winter squash that grows on a vine. Historically the UK has been too cold and wet to grow Butternut Squash but our grower is one of the first to successfully grow it on a commercial scale, here in the UK.

It has a
sweet, nutty taste when cooked, similar to that of a Pumpkin. It has tan-yellow skin and deep orange fleshy pulp with a compartment of seeds in the blossom end. Although botanically a fruit (specifically, a berry), Butternut Squash is used culinarily as a vegetable that can be roasted, sautéed, puréed or mashed. Delicious in soup, it is also excellent in curries, pasta dishes, or risotto.
