The Salmon is traditionally hung and smoked for up to 24 hours over oak, beech and reclaimed whisky barrels from Scottish distilleries, creating a wonderfully complex, rich smoke and a velvety texture.

Not what it used to be
We have had this many times over the years and it has always been perfectly acceptable but now it is far too salty and thick, with the edges of each slice being discoloured - yellowish - and dry. We could not eat it and threw it away.
Disappointing, tough, thick and too salty
This was a disappointment. The salmon is sliced very thickly, is too chewy (does not melt in your mouth like premium smoked salmon should) and is too salty and smokey too. Half of it went to the bin.
Really disappointed, pulled out 4 bones. Very off putting and wouldnt buy again.
Very thickly sliced - not up to usual standard. Could not use for guests coming to supper.
WHAT HAS HAPPENED?
Very thickly sliced like sushimi - not thinly sliced like smoked salmon should be!
tasty and good quality
I have had this twice now and both times it was soft and tasty and as I bought it on offer it was fantastic value too.
