These simple pinwheels are a brilliant back-to-school snack for the kids' lunch boxes, offering a tasty alternative to standard sandwiches. They also make for a great kitchen activity to keep the kids busy over the holidays, as they’ll love helping to spread the tomato purée and roll the pastry. This recipe makes 12-15 pinwheels.Time and servings

Ingredients
- 320g ready-rolled puff pastry
- 3 tbsp tomato purée or passata, we used Ocado Italian Tomato Puree Double Concentrated
- 125g cheddar or mozzarella, grated
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200℃/180℃ fan/gas 6.Step 2
Line a large baking tray with baking parchment.Step 3
Unroll the pastry sheet. Spread the tomato purée evenly over the surface, then sprinkle over the cheese.Step 4
Starting from the long edge closest to you, roll the pastry up tightly into a log.Step 5
Slice into 1-2cm rounds. Place them flat on the prepared baking tray, spacing them out slightly.Step 6
Bake for 20 mins or until puffed, golden and crisp.
