4-Ingredient Honey Flapjacks

We've used honey for natural sweetness and a beaten egg to help bind these chewy oats together, simple, delicious, and perfect for lunchboxes. This recipe makes 25 bite-sized flapjacks.

Ingredients

  • 100g butter
  • 125g runny honey
  • 1 medium egg, beaten
  • 250g jumbo oats, we used Mornflake

Method

  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 180 ∘C/160 ∘ C fan/gas 4.
  • Step 2

    Line a 20cm square baking tin with baking parchment.
  • Step 3

    Add the butter and honey to a large pan. Melt over a low heat. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool for 5 mins.
  • Step 4

    Stir through the egg and then the oats. Mix until fully combined.
  • Step 5

    Tip the mixture into the tin and press down with the back of a spoon until level.
  • Step 6

    Bake for 20-25 mins or until golden. Leave to cool completely in the tin before slicing into 25 pieces.
