Ingredients
- 150 g of plain flour
- 150 ml of semi skimmed milk
- 2 tbsp of caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1 tbsp of oil
- 2 tbsp of hellmann's real mayonnaise
Method
Step 1
Sift the flour, baking powder and caster sugar together in a large bowl.Step 2
In a separate bowl or jug, lightly whisk together the milk, the egg and the mayonnaise.Step 3
Pour this preparation into the flour mixture and beat with a fork until you have a smooth batter.Step 4
Heat a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and add a tablespoon of oil. When it's melted, add a ladle of batter.Step 5
Wait until the top of the pancake begins to bubble, then turn it over and cook until both sides are golden brown and the pancake has risen to about 1cm thick.Step 6
Repeat until all the batter is used up.Step 7
Serve fresh out of the pan with lashings of maple syrup - these pancakes are also delicious with fresh fruit!
