The Americano is an easy drinking, refreshing aperitif which was first made in the 1860s by the creator of Campari, in Caff Campari, Milan. Ingredients

  • 35 ml of campari
  • 35 ml of antica formula carpano vermouth
  • 125 ml of soda water
  • 0.5 orange slice

Method

  • Step 1

    Measure the Campari, Antica Formula Carpano and soda into a highball glass or tumbler.
  • Step 2

    Add ice cubes to bring the liquid to the top of the glass. Stir gently to mix.
  • Step 3

    Garnish with the orange slice.
