Ingredients

  • 150g rolled oats
  • 100g plain flour
  • 75g caster sugar, plus 3 tbsp
  • 1 big pinch ground cinnamon
  • 100g unsalted butter, cold and cubed, plus extra for the dish
  • 3 eating apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • 150g fresh blueberries (or use frozen)
  • 2 (75g) sachets instant custard

Method

  • Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas 4. In a mixing bowl, combine the oats, flour, 75g sugar and cinnamon with a pinch of salt. Add the butter and rub it in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  • Step 2

Grease a medium baking dish (approx. 20 cm x 20 cm). Add the fruit and 3 tbsp sugar; mix well to combine.
  • Step 3

Sprinkle the topping over the fruit. Bake for 30 mins or until bubbling and golden.
  • Step 4

Leave to stand while you make the custard as per pack instructions; serve.
