This is the crowdpleasing family recipe you have always been looking for: cheesy bean pinwheels. Whether you’re baking with kids, or looking for a quick-fix lunch or brunch, this is the answer. Ingredients

  • 320g Jus Rol Ready Rolled Puff Pastry Sheet
  • 6 slices Smoky Mature Cheddar Slices
  • 415g tin Heinz Baked Beans
  • 1 medium egg, beaten

Method

  • Step 1

    Remove the pastry from the fridge 10 mins before unrolling.
  • Step 2

    Heat the oven to 220°C/ 200°C fan/ gas 7. After 10 mins, unroll the pastry onto the work surface. Top with the cheese slices, evenly spacing apart with a 2cm gap around the edge.
  • Step 3

    Stir the beans in the tin then pour over the cheese and spread evenly. Carefully roll up the pastry, using the greaseproof paper under the pastry to help. Transfer to the fridge to chill for 10 mins.
  • Step 4

    Line a large baking sheet with baking parchment. Remove from the fridge and slice into 8 even circles, spread evenly over the baking sheet and brush with beaten egg. Chill for 10 mins.
  • Step 5

    Bake in the oven for 15-20 mins, until golden and puffed. Allow to cool for 10 mins on a wire rack, serve warm or at room temperature.
