Who knew homemade chocolate spread was so easy to make? Our version requires just three ingredients, 15 minutes and a powerful blender – and it has no refined sugar. Use roasted hazelnuts if you can to add richness and depth of flavour, but whole hazelnuts will work well too. Serve with fruit like strawberries or slices of apple, perhaps.Time and servings

Ingredients
- 200 g of hazelnuts, chopped
- 3 tbsp of cacao powder
- 4 tbsp of honey, or maple syrup
Method
Step 1
Tip the nuts into a food processor with the cacao – a NutriBullet or high-speed blender is good for this. Blend for 10 mins, until the mixture forms a paste.Step 2
Add the honey and blend again. Then add around 6tbsp water, little by little, until you reach a consistency you’re happy with.Step 3
Spoon into a pot or jar. Serve with fruit such as strawberries or wedges of crunchy green apple. This spread should keep sealed in the fridge for 2 weeks.
