Easy Steak Tacos

This Easy Steak Tacos recipe is inspired by the authentic carne asada tacos you will find in Mexico. Using an inexpensive cut of steak such as bavette or rump, the steak is marinated with lime juice which tenderises the meat and smoky chipotle then grilled with spring onions and simply served in Soft Taco Wraps with guacamole, Chipotle Salsa and chopped coriander. Looking for more taco recipes? Ingredients

  • 500 g of bavette steak or rump steak
  • 1 packet of gran luchito smoky chipotle fajita & taco mix
  • 3 limes
  • 6 spring onions
  • 0.5 white onion
  • 1 cup of cherry tomatoes
  • 1 jar of gran luchito fire roasted serranos
  • 1 avocado, ripe
  • 1 packet of gran luchito soft taco wraps
  • 1 jar of gran luchito chipotle salsa
  • 1 handful of coriander

Method

  • Step 1

    Place your steak over a big platter with the spring onions on the side. Sprinkle the steak with our Smoky Chipotle Fajita and Taco Mix, add the lime juice and 1 tbsp of olive oil drizzled over the steak and spring onions. Rub the steak with the spice mix and oil, then set aside.
  • Step 2

    Heat up a cast iron pan with the remaining olive oil. Once it’s hot enough, cook the steak and spring onions for a couple of minutes on each side. Season with a pinch of flaky salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Step 3

    Once ready, cover your steak with foil and let it rest for 6-7 minutes before cutting.
  • Step 4

    In the meantime prepare a quick homemade guacamole by adding all the ingredients into a bowl and seasoning with a little salt and pepper. Mix with a spoon and set aside.
  • Step 5

    Warm up your Soft Taco Wraps and serve them with slices of delicious steak topped with the guacamole, a nice amount of Chipotle Salsa, freshly chopped coriander, lime wedges and the grilled spring onions on the side.
