With potatoes one of the most commonly wasted household foods according to WRAP, it’s time to put any scraps to good use. This fruit and veg-laden mini tart also contains small seeds to attract the likes of house sparrows, dunnocks, finches and collared doves.Time and servings

Ingredients
- 20 g of uncooked scrap pastry or cooked pastry shell
- 0.5 roast potato, chopped, or 1 tbsp mashed potato
- 0.5 tbsp of dried cranberries or other dried fruit such as raisins or currants, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp of carrots, or any vegetable of your choice, cooked and chopped
- 1 apple, diced
- 1 grape, chopped
- 1 tbsp of seed mix
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas 6.Step 2
Roll out the pastry and press into a small pie tin or lie flat on a baking sheet and bake for 20 mins.Step 3
Allow to cool completely, then top with the potato, chopped fruit and vegetables.Step 4
Sprinkle the seeds for the finishing touch.
