Ingredients
- 1 tbsp plain flour, for dusting
- 375g block puff pastry
- 1 x 395g Princes Apple Fruit Filling
- 40g cake, crumbled
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 small egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp golden caster sugar
Method
Step 1
Heat the oven to 200°C/ 180°C fan/ gas 6.Step 2
Dust the work surface with flour then divide the pastry into 3 equal pieces and roll to a rectangle measuring 14cm x 16cm. Using a sharp knife, trim the edges so they are straight.Step 3
In a bowl mix the Princes Apple Fruit Filling, cake crumbs, sultanas and cinnamon.Step 4
Spread a third of the apple filling over the middle of each sheet of pastry, leaving a 5cm gap on each of the long edges.Step 5
Cut pastry that is not covered with filling into strips about 1cm apart. Fold the pastry strips into the middle over the apple filling, occasionally overlapping strips to create a bandage effect.Step 6
Chill in the fridge for 15 mins. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle over the sugar. Cook for 20-25 mins, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.Step 7
Remove from the oven and allow to cool, before decorating with the edible eyes and eating.
