Ingredients

  • 400 g of lean beef mince
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 red chillies, deseeded and finely chopped
  • 0.5 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 1 handful of fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped

Method

  • Step 1

Put all the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Using your hands, mix together really well until the texture is thick and paste-like. Form into 8 patties about 4cm (1 3 / 4 in) thick, and chill until needed.
  • Step 2

Heat the barbecue or charcoal grill until hot. Cook the beef patties over a medium heat for 5 minutes on each side until nicely browned and cooked through, turning only once during cooking.
  • Step 3

Serve hot, sandwiched in a burger bun with fresh tomato slices and crispy lettuce.
