Ingredients

  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 2 tbsp of mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp of sesame seeds, toasted
  • 3 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp of mirin
  • 3 tbsp of sake
  • 1 sheet of nori, shredded with scissors
  • 1 tbsp of butter
  • 4 spring onions, sliced
  • 0.75 tbsp of sugar
  • 4 sausages

Method

  • Step 1

    To make the teriyaki sauce combine the soy sauce, mirin, & sake in a saucepan and bring to boil. Remove from the heat and mix in the sugar until dissolved.
  • Step 2

    Pan fry the sausages over a medium heat for about 8 mins until cooked through, shaking the pan to brown them evenly.
  • Step 3

    While the sausages cook, warm the buns in the oven.
  • Step 4

    When ready, slit the buns, spread a little butter inside, add the lettuce and sausage, then drizzle the teriyaki sauce on. Squeeze the mayo over the top in a zig zag pattern, then sprinkle with spring onion, sesame seeds and nori.
