“These three-ingredient Kids’ Potato Bread Shapes – I call them my Tattie Bread Shapes – are great for children to get hands on in the kitchen and make themselves,” says author and cookery school founder Angela Johnson, aka Mrs Bun. “They’re a tasty way to use up leftover mash, and are lovely dunked in soup, topped with beans or simply buttered.” Time and servings

Ingredients
- 225g cold mashed potato
- 1 tbsp soft butter
- 75g self-raising flour, plus extra to sprinkle
Method
Step 1
Put the cold mash in a mixing bowl with the butter; mix well.Step 2
Stir in the flour with a pinch of salt, then get in there with clean hands to shape it into a ball – it should be slightly tacky but pliable. If it’s too sticky, add a little more flour.Step 3
Divide evenly into 3 pieces; roll out each one on a lightly floured board to 5mm-1cm thick.Step 4
Using whatever cookie cutter takes your fancy (hearts, rockets, unicorns – anything goes!), stamp out the dough until it’s all used up, re-rolling as needed.Step 5
Place a dry, non-stick pan or griddle over a medium-high heat. Add the potato bread shapes and cook for 3-4 mins until golden underneath; flip and cook for 2-3 mins more. Alternatively, cook in an air fryer at 190°C for 8-9 mins.Step 6
Recipe Tip: This recipe makes approx. 8 potato bread shapes.
