Limoncello fans, this one’s for you! Cook and recipe writer Sophie Mann puts the iconic Italian lemon liqueur to delectable use in her Limoncello Negroni – a bold take on the popular cocktail. For added flair, serve it over a diagonal ice wedge.

Ingredients

  • 50ml gin
  • 50ml Campari
  • 50ml limoncello
  • 1 lemon, juiced, plus twists of peel

Method

  • Step 1

    To create a diagonal ice wedge (if using), fill two freezer-safe glasses to just under halfway with water. Prop them up in the freezer at an angle for a few hours until frozen solid.
  • Step 2

    In a cocktail shaker or clean lidded jar, combine the gin, Campari, limoncello and lemon juice. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 20-30 secs, until chilled.
  • Step 3

    Strain into two lowball or whisky glasses filled with ice, or over diagonal ice wedges (if using). Garnish with a lemon twist and serve immediately.

    Recipe Tip: Allow extra time for freezing if making the ice wedges.
