
Low ‘n’ Slow Chilli Con Carne

Take
the hassle out of making a seriously tasty chilli con carne. Simply soften some
red pepper and brown some chunks of braising steak before throwing everything
into a pot over a low heat or a slow cooker. Cook for a minimum of 4 hours, but
the longer the better. Cooking it all day on a very low heat will give the best

Ingredients
- 1 bottle of gran luchito sauce
- 400 g of beef braising steak
- 1 red pepper
- 300 g of red kidney beans
- 180 g of basmati rice, to serve
- 1 splash of olive oil
- 1 sour cream, to serve (optional)
- 1 dash of guacamole, to serve (optional)
Method
Step 1
Chop the red pepper into small chunks.Step 2
Add a splash of oil to a large pan and fry the pepper for 3 minutes.Step 3
Move the pepper to the side of the pan and add the beef braising steak.Step 4
Fry for 5 minutes until the steak is brown all over. Stir occasionally.Step 5
Put the contents into large pot or slow cooker along with the kidney beans and a bottle of sauce.Step 6
Slow cook for around 4 hours until the meat can be easily pulled apart using two forks.Step 7
Serve with rice & top with sour cream, guacamole & a slice of corn bread.
