Mangonadas

Mangonadas

By OcadoLife

A delicious cross between a sorbet and a slushy, these Mangonadas from Mexican chef and author Karla Zazueta are both a drink and a dessert. “They’re inspired by the mango-with-chilli treats sold at street stalls in Mexico by fruit sellers,” she says. “The mango and lime combo is so refreshing, and the Tajín adds a lovely kick.”

Ingredients

  • 100ml Tajín Chamoy Liquid
  • 1 tbsp Tajín seasoning
  • 500g tinned Alphonso mango pulp
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 mango, cut into small cubes

Method

  • Step 1

Put the chamoy in a shallow bowl and the Tajín seasoning on a saucer. Dip the rim of each glass into the chamoy to lightly coat, then into the Tajín so it sticks. Add 1 tbsp chamoy to the bottom of each glass.
  • Step 2

In a blender, blitz 2-3 handfuls of ice, the mango pulp and lime juice until thick and sorbet-like.
  • Step 3

Pour some mango mixture into each glass, followed by a drizzle of chamoy, a pinch of Tajín and some mango cubes. Repeat the layers once or twice to fill each glass.
